Meet Stacy

After calling Minnesota home for 22 years, Stacy decided to follow her ♡ and move to Mandeville, Jamaica in July 2016. Her year of volunteering in Jamaica consisted of helping the poor and underserved communities. She helped in nursing homes, infirmaries, clinics and pre-schools. Following her year in Jamaica, Stacy spent the next two years teaching English as a second language in China (first in Nanjing, then in Changzhou). After getting a taste of the world, she realized that she had a long-term case of wanderlust. In 2018 alone, Stacy traveled to seven different countries in Asia, six of them being solo-trips.

On her She Who Strayed blog, you can find helpful tips and tricks to navigate your solo-journey. In addition, you find guides on where to eat & drink, where to stay, what to avoid and information on the places that you must-see.

Stacy is a published travel journalist and freelance writer that has written articles for Star Tribune, Twin Cities Daily Planet, The Nanjinger, SupCZ, Open Magazine, Thought Catalog, We Are Travel Girls, Dame Traveler, China Highlights, and more. She specializes in travel writing, dating & relationships, personal essays, and news stories. Check out her published articles here.
